Rotary Phase Converter
In our research, we found that rotary phase converters had to be replaced, not because of defect of the phase converter but because the  manufacturers did not fully understand the application and provided the wrong size of converter.

One of the most important things is to make sure you are getting a true, three phase rotary phase converter. Many manufacturers are selling a static phase converter with a motor. We recommend the first thing to do is check the warranty coverage.  If the manufacturer does not offer a five-year warranty on their phase converters, don't bother giving them your business.  The majority of the time, a manufacturer that offers less than a five-year warranty is selling a static phase converter rather than a true, rotary phase converter.  Remember, less quality phase converters can cause serious damage to your equipment causing unnecessary repair cost..

Some of the questions you need to ask before buying a phase converter are:

  • How long has the company been in business? We recommend at least five years.
  • How long is their warranty?
  • List of customers that have used their phase converters.
  • What happens if the phase converter does not do perform the application requirements?
  • What is their policy on returns?
  • Is the phase converter available with automatic start?
  • What is the noise level of the phase converter?

You will also need the following information before placing an order:

  • Type of equipment, the brand and model.
  • Is your equipment easy or hard to start?
  • HP of main motors and HP of any other motors you may be using.
  • If you have more than one piece of equipment, do they start all at the same time or at different times?
  • AMP requirements of the motors.
  • Number of motors requiring three phase power and information on each one.

We strongly recommend that you ask questions before buying your phase converters and that you feel comfortable with your manufacturer. One word of caution, there are few industrial standards for phase converters. Because of the increased demand for phase converters, many companies are jumping on the band wagon and offering inferior products increasing their own profits.

We recommend ACE Phase Converters because they produce a quality rotary phase converter.  They use only quality materials, and their rotary-phase converters generate three phase electricity with an active hybrid generator.  They have been producing phase converters for over 25 years and offer the best warranty in the industry.
